Ementor wins a million contract with The Foreign Ministry

(2006.02.06)  Press Release

(Denmark) The Foreign Ministry has just entered into an agreement with Ementor regarding the total contract for the supply of the Ministry’s new and improved visa system. The system is part of the Schengen countries common visa information system which will contain all member country’s visa applications from 1 January 2007. The contract covers both special development of the application as well as roll-out at the embassies and the subsequent operation, support and maintenance. Furthermore, hardware and software are included.  The contract has a value of almost 10 MDKK for the first two phases of the project. A planned phase three is expected to extend the agreement.

The new visa system will ensure a more effective and user-friendly support of the embassies work which involves issuing and administration of visa. At the same time it enables Denmark to comply with the demands for visa policy stated by the new common European visa system for the administration of the Schengen countries. The system will be in operation 1 January 2007.

”Ementor has been a regular supplier to the Foreign Ministry for a number of years and this partnership has always been characterised by considerable professionalism. We chose Ementor for this task because they have the competencies needed within the latest technologies, in order to undertake such an ambitious task – combined with a business which is broad enough to deliver the entire solution. Ementor also presented the most convincing proposal for the solution. With Ementor as a cooperating partner, we are confident that we will have a good and effective visa system in time”, says Ambassador Lars Thuesen, The Foreign Ministry.

”I am very pleased that a very busy Foreign Ministry, who is a competent customer with high demands, has chosen Ementor as a main supplier of their new visa system. We know The Foreign Ministry’s platform, demands for architecture and have been able to add the latest Microsoft technology to the solution. The agreement, in many ways, already shows the effect of a new, strong and rearmed Ementor – and not least the strengths that our focus on the consulting and system development part can bring together”, says Managing Director Carsten Dilling, Ementor Danmark A/S. ”I am sure that our competitors are worried about the merger and the good start-up for our consolidation of the consulting business,” he continues.

”With this agreement our consolidated business unit with focus on complex consulting and system development tasks has had a really good start,” says Divisional Director Niels Henrik Sodemann, Ementor Danmark A/S. ”The solution is a very good example of what our core business, focusing on consulting and system development, is all about and what it can offer. Everything is delivered ”in-house” and the system will be developed after state-of-the-art SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) principles on Microsoft .NET platform,” he continues.
